Verizon Wireless today announced the Motorola RIZR Z6tv, a slider phone equipped with VCAST Mobile TV, VCAST Music and Video, available on October 5.

The RIZR Z6tv provides entertainment lovers 24-hour access to broadcast-quality full-length TV shows through VCAST Mobile TV. VCAST Mobile TV offers programming for TV viewers including the "Late Show with David Letterman," "24" and "Dora the Explorer." The service offers live shows and mobile television content from CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, MTV, NBC 2GO, NBC News2GO, and Nickelodeon. VCAST Mobile TV customers can enjoy fast channel surfing, view upcoming programs on the program guide and access parental control features.

Beyond VCAST Mobile TV, the RIZR Z6tv can access Get It Now applications, such as VZ Navigator which helps customers access location information to more than 14 million points of interest. For customers who are musically inclined, VCAST Music is sure to keep customers connected to their favorite music while on-the-go, allowing them to enjoy over-the-air full-track downloads from a library of more than 2.1 million songs. The RIZR Z6tv is also equipped with Bluetooth stereo headset support for music, creating a wireless mobile music experience. Other features of the RIZR Z6tv include:

Verizon Wireless today lifted the curtain on four anchor phones for the 2007 holiday season: the Samsung Juke, the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone, the LG Venus and the LG Voyager. All of the phones will be in stores before Thanksgiving.

The Samsung Juke

Targeting customers who never leave home without their wireless phones or their music players, the pint-sized multi-functional Juke has a unique swivel design which enables it to literally flick open 180 degrees to reveal the keypad. The 2 GB of internal storage complements the phone's music player, which supports MP3, WMA and unprotected AAC files. Other features include a VGA camera with Nightshot, Bluetooth stereo support for listening to music and the ability to access Verizon Wireless' popular services such as VZ Navigator and Chaperone. The LG Venus

The Venus will debut in both black and pink. It has two dual front screens, the lower of which also has touch input with vibration feedback, which make accessing the phone's features a breeze. The Motorola RAZR MAXX Ve packs an array of multimedia options into the iconic RAZR design and tops it off with a lightening-fast 3G connection. Based on the Motorola RAZR MAXX V6 with a few slight differences, the Ve's EV-DO technology serves up Verizon's VCAST music and video services as well as Get it Now downloads and Mobile Web 2.0 emailing capabilities.

Equipped with an MP3 player, a 2.0-megapixel camera and a video camera with extended playback capabilities, the Ve represents the last generation in a line of RAZR phones before the upcoming RAZR2. Its refinements include a dark metal and glass design, an improved keypad and a bright 2.2-inch screen. The Ve comes packed with a generous 60 MB of internal memory plus the option of 2 GB removable microSD memory.
