How to get a Joost invite

You will no doubt have seen a lot of comments around the web - there are some on this blog already - asking for invites to Joost.
I realised it would save a lot of effort and confusion for people if I explained the way invites work with joost.
First of all, as you probably know, Joost is in an invite-only beta phase at this time, and that’s why people are chasing after those elusive invites.
The Joost beta testing community - and we have no idea how many of us there are - get invite tokens allocated to them on a random basis by the Joost team. At the moment, I have no tokens, and therefore no invites. If and when I get some, I will post about it here. Other members may still have invites left, but they don’t all publicise this fact. Why not? Well, for one thing they may already have a list of contacts that they would like to invite.
Joost quite sensibly want to control the growth of the beta programme as far as possible up until the time is right for a public launch/beta/whatever. If the beta progresses well, they might allocate a few more tokens to increase the numbers to a new higher level. Clearly, peer to peer video streaming technology involves some critical factors in terms of available bandwidth, number of active nodes… the maths is beyond me, but I can appreciate there are some tricky calculations required to keep it all running smoothly.
Now, for the point of this post: how to get yourself an invite:
Sign up at the Joost site
Check the Joost blog regularly (or subscribe to their feed)
Search for blog posts offering invites.
Read those posts carefully - if they say you must be prepared to write about Joost to get an invite, be prepared to do that and remember to mention it in your response. If they say send an email, don’t leave a comment instead.
