Samsung Announces Sponsorship of the 2007 World Cyber Games


Secaucus, NJ (PRWEB) May 26, 2007 -- Samsung Camera is proud to announce its official sponsorship of the 2007 World Cyber Games, (WCG). The WCG is the world's biggest international video game tournament series with well over one million participants from more than 70 countries. The WCG US Open, a two-day competition which kicks off the American leg of the WCG USA 2007 Championship Series, will be held June 2-3 at the Samsung Experience in New York City. During the U.S. Open, a virtual who's who of the top professional video gamers will compete in 10 of the highest profile PC and Xbox 360 games on the market including: Starcraft®: Brood WarTM (PC), WarCraft® III: The Frozen Throne™ (PC), Half-Life®: Counter-Strike™ (PC), Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium WarsTM (PC), Age of Empires® III: The WarChiefs (PC), FIFA Soccer 07 (PC), Need For Speed™ Carbon (PC), Gears of War® (Xbox 360), Dead or Alive® 4 (Xbox 360), Project Gotham Racing® 3 (Xbox 360). pectators and local gamers are invited to compete in Tony Hawk's Project 8 for an automatic berth at the WCG USA National Final, as well as check out the many interactive product demonstrations and giveaways from tournament sponsors.
US Open competitors will be vying for automatic berths in the WCG USA National Championships this September and some will earn an invitation to the exclusive invite-only WCG Pan American Championships, taking place at the end of June in Cancun, Mexico. The fierce competition comes to a head at the WCG 2007 Grand Finals this October in Seattle, Washington.
